Annual Enrollment Period 2021
The Medicare Annual Enrollment Period - AEP for short - is a set timeframe in the year when you can update or change your Medicare plan. This year’s enrollment period runs from October 15th - December 7th, 2021.
Key dates:
If you are on a Medicare plan, your "Annual Notice of Changes" for 2022 should be in your mailbox no later than September 30th.
On October 1st, you will be able to compare the 2022 plans with your current plan to see how coverage may (or may not) change.
On October 15th, if your needs have changed and you want a different plan for next year, you can switch to a new plan.
Annual Enrollment Period (AEP) ends on December 7th. This is the last day you can join a new plan for next year.
What changes can I make during AEP?
What you can change is dependent on your current plan, but you may be able to make changes such as:
Drop your Medicare Advantage Plan and go back to Original Medicare.
Add or change your prescription drug coverage (Part D).
Switch from one Medicare Advantage Plan to another.
Join a Medicare Advantage plan (Part C) with our without build-in drug coverage.
